Today I Ate A Rainbow! Here at kindervibe, we’re big advocates of eating whole foods. We feel it’s important to establish a solid foundation for healthy eating habits with our children so that they will grow up loving to eat healthy, whole foods. When we were introduced to this latest product, we became instant fans. Here's why. . . . Who wants to eat a rainbow?Okanagan mom Kia developed a colourful, fun way to help children eat their fruits and vegetables with Today I Ate A Rainbow!, an interactive nutritional chart. The chart is a colourful rainbow highlighting fruits and vegetables broken down by colour. Bright cartoon magnets are placed on the colour category after your child ate the corresponding fruit or vegetable. By the end of the day, the goal is to have completed the rainbow, and then your child can officially say: “Today I ate a rainbow.” Why we like food rainbowsThe easy-to-follow chart is fun for children and they can track their progress of eating colourful fruits and vegetables each day. It’s also a great educational tool as parents can discuss with their children the different benefits of various fruits and vegetables. For instance, carrots are high in beta-carotene, which is great for the eyes and blueberries are a known superfood high in antioxidants, and the list goes on. The chart is also helpful for parents who can track their own daily intake of fruits and vegetables along with ensuring that they are making balanced colourful meals. Bottom line, fruits and vegetables are loaded with nutrients and health benefits, and this is a great simple and fun way to encourage healthy eating for our children and ourselves. Where to find itToday I Ate A Rainbow is designed for children ages three and up and is available online at www.todayiatearainbow.com.
